Alicia

Who is Alicia? Alicia is a stranger to me. I’ve never seen or spoken to her, and neither know where she lives and how old is she but I know that she has a relationship with a commercial business which constantly send her text messages offering cash advances and promotions but Alicia is not receiving any text messages from them. The messages arrive on my phone. From this fact, I decided to explore the relationship between consumption and communication, and how the economy becomes a fundamental part of our daily lives. ALICIA is the representation of the invisible people who make a system and form part of it. A system that needs them and create a connection through communication. Where consumption is not based on the logic of “too much” instead the shortcomings that we have (though there may be real or imaginary).

¿Quién es Alicia? Alicia es una persona desconocida para mi. Nunca la he visto o hablado con ella y tampoco se donde vive y que edad tiene pero se que mantiene una relación con una casa comercial de la cual recibe constantemente mensajes de texto ofreciendo avances de dinero y promociones pero Alicia no recibe los mensajes de texto. Los mensajes llegan a mi teléfono. A partir de este hecho, decido explorar la relación entre consumo y comunicación, y como la economía se vuelve una parte fundamental de nuestras vidas diarias. ALICIA es la representación de las personas invisibles que forman un sistema que los necesita, que los busca. Donde el consumo no se basa en la lógica de lo demasiado sino en la carencias que podamos tener (aunque puedan ser reales o imaginarias).
